The duration of this course is 40 hours (5 days and consists of 50% theory and 50% practical).

  • Emergency Scene Management
  • Cardiovascular Emergencies
  • One Rescuer CPR (Adult, Child and Infant)
  • Choking (Adult, Child and Infant)
  • Shock, Unconsciousness and Fainting
  • Wounds and Bleeding
  • Specific Fractures and threatened limb
  • Burns
  • Head and Spinal Injuries
  • Joint and Soft Tissue Injuries
  • Rescue Carries
  • Chest Injuries
  • Hand Injuries
  • Eye Injuries
  • Multiple Casualty Management (Triage)
  • Two Rescuer CPR
  • Pelvic, Abdominal and Crush Injuries
  • Environmental Injuries
  • Poisons, Bites and Stings
  • Medical Conditions (Seizures, Diabetes etc.)
  • Elementary and Applied Anatomy and Physiology
  • Emergency Child Birth
  • Behavioral Emergencies
  • Water Accidents

 

Practical componenets are assessed continuously throughout the course. A written Exam will be undertaken on the last day of the course to assess the theory component.

 

Minimum of 6 and maximum 12 learners per class.
